Senate Republicans Push Repeal of Health Care Law
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has introduced a measure to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the health care law passed last year, as an amendment to legislation dealing with the Federal Aviation Administration. Senators are currently debating the amendment on the Senate floor.
This was the second measure aimed at pulling back the health care law unleashed by Republican senators Tuesday. A separate piece of legislation has been introduced by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wy., that would allow states to opt out of many of the provisions of the health care law that state lawmakers and others find objectionable, including the individual mandate, the employer mandate and the Medicaid enrollee expansion.
