Sen. Miguel DLP and Associate Expecting Baby

Congratulations are in order to Sen. Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, R-Coral Gables, and his longtime associate/assistant Elinette Ruiz, who are expecting a baby girl in July.

It will be child No. 4 for this "Papi" DLP, 52, who has two boys in their 20s and a daughter in high school with his first wife Mari. Politicalcortadito.com says it's Ruiz's first child.

The attorney/lobbyist took baby mommaDLP Ruiz with him when he jumped from Becker and Poliakoff to the national firm, Ahrnstein and Lehr in 2013.

In 2014, says the website, the DLP-Ruiz team won a big victory for The Congress Group, one of the country’s leading real estate land owners, developers and asset management firms, when they got the Doral City Council to unanimously approve zoning and land use approval of a mixed use development project of 631 residences and 60,000 square feet of commercial uses on one of the city’s largest tracts of land.
