Seize BP! Socialists Ask, 'Could Government Do Any Worse?'

Fed up with the ongoing mess in the Gulf, a South Florida socialist group will host a program Sunday to discuss the idea of government taking control of BP.

ANSWER -- shorthand for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism -- will "provide an update on the momentum that is building nationally around the 'Seize BP' campaign," organizers said.

From a pure market perspective, Washington could get the company on the cheap, since BP's share price is half what it was before Deepwater Horizon blew up.

John Daly, who took part in a delegation to the Gulf Coast last month, will be the featured speaker.

The 5 p.m. meeting will be held at 712 NW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale. A donation of $5-$10 at the door will be requested.
