Gov. Rick Scott discussed his health care, education and jobs priorities for the 2012 legislative session during a morning appearance on FOX 35 in Orlando Tuesday morning.
"We've got to get our economy going," Scott said. "Now it's happening here in Florida, we're bucking the national trend. Our unemployment has gone from 12 percent down to 10.3 percent, still higher than the national average but the national numbers have been flat. We've generated 118,000 private-sector jobs but we still have 900,000 people out of work, so we're heading in the right direction. We've got a lot of work to do.
