Scott Signs Death Warrant for Robert Waterhouse

Gov. Rick Scott has signed his third death-row warrant, this one for Robert Waterhouse, who was out on lifetime parole for second-degree murder in New York when he was convicted of killing of a St. Petersburg woman, Deborah Kammerer, in 1980.

Waterhouse, 65, is scheduled to be executed at Florida State Prison on Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.

In 1966, Waterhouse was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and burglary in New York in the death of a 77-year-old woman. He pled guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment.He was on lifetime parole at the time of the Kammerer murder.

Last year, Scott signed the death warrants for Oba Chandler, convicted of murdering a woman and her two daughters who were vacationing in Tampa from Ohio in 1989, and convicted cop killer Manuel Valle.
