Scott Seeking Replacement for Suspended Elections Supervisor

A week after Gov. Rick Scott suspended the supervisor of elections in Madison County following her arrest, no one has applied for the $76,419 a year job.

Meanwhile, Greene Publishing Inc., which publishes the Madison Enterprise Recorder, reported the governors office has received two applications for Madison County School Board.

Governor Scott is working to appoint people to replace the supervisor of elections and the school board member he suspended in Madison County, Scotts press secretary Lane Wright wrote in a letter to Greene Publishing.

There is no timeline for making that decision, but his appointments office is working to fill them in a timely fashion.

Scott suspended Jada Woods Williams, a Democrat who wasnt up for re-election until 2014, and school board member Abra Hill Tina Johnson, after they were arrested along with six others including Johnsons husband in connection with alleged voter fraud that allowed Johnson to win a runoff election last year in the county of nearly 20,000 along the Georgia state line.
