Scott, RPOF Announce 'Honest Voter Hotline'
Rick Scott and the Republican Party of Florida want to make sure there's no funny business going on Nov. 2.
Today they announced an "Honest Voter Hotline" so Florida voters can notify them of any voting irregularities at the polls.
With tomorrows election, our Honest Voter Hotline will allow Floridians to receive assistance or report any problems at the polls said Rob Jakubik, Scott spokesman. The hotline will allow us to learn about, and take steps toward, remedying any voter irregularities at polling places throughout the state."
Jakubik says while they are hopeful Election Day will be complaint-free, "We have seen that allies of the Democrat Party have shown a willingness to commit fraud across the country in both this election cycle and in recent years. Given the tightness of the polls, all examples of fraud must be addressed to preserve the integrity of the election."
According to news reports in 2008, complaints filed in Florida elections included voter intimidation, fraudulent registrations, multiple ballots cast and votes bought for money. So far this year, Florida law enforcement is looking into charges of absentee fraud and people who may have double-voted in the August primary, the release says.
The hotline can be accessed by calling 877-602-2010.
