Scott Highlights Education Proposals in High School Tour
Gov. Rick Scott toured the college-prep campus of Allen Nease Senior High School in Ponte Vedraon Friday to again tout his proposal to give teachers a $2,500 pay hike and boost funding for K-12 education by $1.2 billion in the next fiscal year.
Nease High School is ranked No. 3 in Florida for their college ready graduation rate, which means their students are being well-prepared for the future, Scott stated in a release.
To support continued teacher and student success, we are doubling down on our education investment and continuing to put Floridas families first.
During the tour, Scott awarded math teacher Stefanie Martineau with a Governors Shine Award, which the governors office says is given to inspirational Florida teachers.
