Scott: Debates, not Super PAC Ads, Influence Florida Voters
Despite the millions of dollars being spent by Super PACs on mostly negative ads, Gov. Rick Scott says the debate performances will matter more to Florida voters as the GOPs primary is decided today.
I think the TV stations are loving it, Scott told Tim Farley, host of the Morning Briefing on Sirius XM Radio station POTUS (Politics Of The United States).I think the debates have the biggest impact. When people come to the polls, they vote for something, and I think in Florida theyre going to vote for the person they believe is going to get the economy going.
The governor hasnt made an endorsement but has praised former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in recent interviews. He said a candidate's plan to create "jobs" will be the key factor in the voting, but would only say hes voting for a candidate whose name has less than 10 letters.
Scott, who is voting in Tallahassee for the first time and will watch the election results tonight from the governors mansion, will be busy today with national interviews.
As the polls close in the Panhandle, Scott will be on CNBC's The Kudlow Report at 7:30 p.m.
From 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Scotts schedule has him talking to Trish Regan of Bloomberg TV; 8:35 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. is carved out for Rachel Crowson and Steve Ray of America's Radio News Network.
From 9:50 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., Scott is to be interviewed by Piers Morgan on CNN.
Scotts day concludes with Sean Hannity on FOX News from 11 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
