Scott Appoints Tynan and Leonard to Nominating Commissions
Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Kevin P. Tynan to the 17th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and Patricia A. Leonard to the 4th District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.
According to releases from the governor's office:
Tynan, 52, of Pembroke Pines, has been a partner at Richardson and Tynan PLC since 2001. From 2000 to 2001, he practiced with Entin, Margules and Della Fera PA after serving as staff counsel to the Florida Bar from 1988 to 2000. He was appointed to serve on the Broward County School Board from 2009 to 2010 and the South Broward Hospital District from 2002 to 2010. He received a bachelors degree from Barry University and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Tynan succeeds Richard Zaden and was appointed for a term beginning Oct. 14, 2011, and ending July 1, 2015. He was appointed from the list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar.
Leonard, 45, of Palm Beach Gardens, is a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig PA. She practiced with Beasley, Hauser, Kramer, Leonard and Galardi PA from 2002 to 2011 and with Gunster, Yoakley and Stewart PA from 1995 to 2002. She is a member of the 15th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, the Economic Council of Palm Beach County and Executive Women of the Palm Beaches. She received a bachelors degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
Leonard succeeds Gregory Barnhart and was appointed for a term beginning Oct. 14, 2011, and ending July 1, 2015. She was appointed from the list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar.
