Sandy Adams Hits Obama and Dems on Taxes

Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams used the occasion of Tax Day to attack the Democratic leadership in Washington, including President Barack Obama.

As Americans and businesses across the country file their taxes today, it is important they take note of the president and congressional Democrats recent call to raise taxes, said Adams on Monday. At a time when businesses and families across the country can barely afford to pay their bills, now is not the time for Democrats to hit them with higher taxes. Rather than raising taxes in this tight economy, Washington needs to re-examine its spending problem. The past few years are testament to the fact that we cannot borrow, tax, and spend our way into prosperity, and it is time for a new direction. We must focus on providing our nations small businesses, the backbone of our economy, with the tools and incentives to thrive. With our nation facing an economic crossroads, my hope is that we can all work together to chart a better fiscal course for our country.
