Rudy Moise Camp Reporting $900,000 Cash on Hand
Staff for Dr. Rudy Moise, who is running in a crowded Democratic field to take the congressional seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, announced that their candidate had more than $900,000 on hand to launch an all-out sprint to the primary on Aug. 24. There is no Republican candidate in the race.
Moise, who had just launched the first television ad in the race, held a conference on Thursday to start the final drive to the primary election.
Getting health care right is a matter of life and death for the people of the 17th District where so many do not have access to quality affordable medical care, said Moise.Career politicians dont know anything about administering health care. I am a physician and Ive been doing it in the district for 25 years.
Change starts with choosing someone different, added Moise. Im the only candidate in this race who has created jobs and worked in the district to provide health care.I have the real-world experience we need to make health care reform work for everyone.
Moise faces a host of officeholders for the nomination. While most of them have not posted their financial figures for the second quarter, Sen. Frederica Wilson, D-Miami, came closest to Moise in cash on hand in the first quarter. Wilson had just under $114,000 -- meaning she needed to pass around her many colorful hats if she wanted to catch up to Moise's impressive total.
