Rudy Giuliani 2012?
Politicos Maggie Haberman is reporting that former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is thinking about running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. Giuliani ran for the Republican presidential nod in 2008 and came up short.
Florida put the final nail in the coffin for Giulianis 2008 presidential campaign. He placed a distant third, winning less than 15 percent of the vote -- far behind U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. He did not carry any of Floridas 67 counties. He had several prominent Republicans backing his campaign in Florida including Attorney General Bill McCollum.
Giuliani is not the only New Yorker thinking about the Republican presidential nomination. Former Gov. George Pataki has also shown signs of running for president. Pataki and Giuliani are old rivals harking back to 1994 when Giuliani endorsed Democrat Mario Cuomo for re-election instead of backing fellow Republican Pataki.
