Rubio on Romney's VP Shortlist
Politico has picked up on a blog from Virginia, where GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney was fundraising. It quotes Romney as mentioning U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, in addition to Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, as his preferred running mate on the ticket.
From the Bearing Drift blog:
Romney said that McDonnell has been an incredible governor and will be on any candidates short-list for vice president. Now, considering that the candidate was in Virginia Beach effectively McDonnells hometurf, that statement should be taken with a grain of sand. But he reiterated that the short list is McDonnell, Governor Christie of New Jersey and Marco Rubio of Florida.
Rubio has repeatedly stated he will not be on the 2012 ticket, but the hype persists.
