Rubio Raises $3.6 Million--Over Twice What He Raised Last Quarter of 2009

Looking for confirmation that Marco Rubio is the GOP frontrunner for the U.S. Senate primary? Besides receiving the backing of former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani earlier this week, Rubio just announced that his campaign has hauled in $3.6 million in the first quarter of 2010. This is over twice the amount that Rubio brought in during the last quarter of 2009 when he raked in $1.75 million.

Gov. Charlie Crist, Rubios chief rival for the Republican nomination, has not announced his figures for the first quarter of 2010. Crist has enjoyed a solid lead in fundraising during 2009 but Rubio was closing the gap, especially in the last quarter.
