RPOF: Where are Charlie Crist and Alex Sink?

Gov. Rick Scott made a stop in Tampa Thursday for his "It's Your Money" tax tour, and the Republican Party of Florida wants to know why potential Democratic candidates for governor have been quiet on reducing taxes.

RPOF Press Secretary Susan Hepworth explained it had been 12 days since Gov. Scott called for a massive tax cut but noted that potential gubernatorial candidates Charlie Crist and Alex Sink have been silent over the matter.

"Does their silence imply they are against returning money to hard-working Floridians, and that government knows how to best spend that money?" asked Hepworth.

Scott has been touring the state to discuss his ideas to cut $500 million in taxes and fees from next year's budget. He's also been touting job growth numbers across the state, telling attendees at his Tampa event that the Tampa Bay area has had the biggest increase in jobs in the state over the last 12 months.

Scott has said he will be looking at cutting taxes that make Florida "less competitive with other states" when it comes to recruiting businesses. He will conclude his tour Friday in Orlando.
