RPOF Returns to Attack Charlie Crist on Obama Stimulus
In 2010, in a major political upset, Marco Rubio drove then-Gov. Charlie Crist out of the Republican Party and beat him in the U.S. Senate race by pointing out his support of President Barack Obamas federal stimulus. With Crist now a Democrat running against Gov. Rick Scott, the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) picked up the same attack on Monday.
"Before embracing President Obama and his failed stimulus plan, Charlie Crist tried a spending spree of his own, said Lenny Curry, the chairman of the RPOF. But as was often the case with Crist, it was nothing more than shallow platitudes that failed miserably as Florida's economy tanked. Florida can't afford a leader who is more interested in pleasing his Washington buddies than doing what is right for Floridians. We can't afford Charlie Crist."
