RPOF: 'Charlie Crist ... Becoming Washington's Favorite Democrat'
The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) went after former Gov. Charlie Crist on Thursday, trying to link him to President Barack Obamas federal health-care law. Despite having spent most of his career in the GOP, Crist is the favorite for the Democratic nomination to challenge Gov. Rick Scott in November. Lenny Curry, the chairman of the RPOF, hit Crist for hiring Jim Messina as a campaign adviser -- a Democratic operative best known for managing Obamas 2012 campaign.
"Charlie Crist is fast becoming Washington's favorite Democrat, adopting President Obama's failed policies like Obamacare and recruiting President Obama's best spin doctors who sold Americans on the now-infamous line, 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it," Curry said. When Charlie Crist can't acknowledge that the 'Lie of the Year' is a lie, Floridians should not trust him to do what's best for the Sunshine State."
