RPOF and CNN Announce Jan. 26 as Date for Jacksonville Presidential Debate
Jacksonville is set to be the next Florida battleground for presidential candidates, according to a press release issued Saturday by the Republican Party of Florida.
After consultation with campaigns and Republican officials, the RPOF and CNN have selected Jan. 26 in the northeastern Florida city as the date for the CNN/RPOF Republican Debate.
So far, there have been debates in Tampa and Orlando. With the national convention being held in Tampa next year, the RPOF says it is "committed to a venue in Northeast Florida, another region crucial for Republican victory statewide."
Said RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry, "CNN and RPOF are going to make this debate the best opportunity for our presidential candidates to continue their dialogue with Floridians. With a date exactly halfway between the South Carolina and Florida primary dates, this debate will be the must-attend event for this great field of Republicans."
