Ron Paul Shows No Signs of Slowing Down on Fundraising

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul raised big bucks in January and shows no signs of slowing down.

Aaron Blake over at the Washington Post has the details of Pauls fundraising in January when the Texas congressman reeled in $4.5 million for his campaign. The Paul team is wrapping up a fundraising drive on Monday, looking to raise $2 million.

Paul sent out a message on Monday afternoon, maintaining that his team had already raised $1.7 million and insisting that he is still a contender in the race.

Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are pulling out all the stops to get their supporters to the polls on March 6, Paul wrote. They have the establishment on their side to help them turn out the vote, and with 10 states on the line, I want to make sure my campaign can respond with every resource necessary to both accumulate votes and secure critical delegate spots in as many states as possible.

Despite what you may have heard, this race is far from over," Paul added. While the other candidates compete in what often turn out to be only beauty contests, were doing the hard work on the ground of racking up the delegates that will be crucial to winning the nomination.
