Ron Paul Piles on Mitt Romney With Etch A Sketch Ad
Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul is the latest candidate to pile on Mitt Romney over one of his strategists comments comparing his candidates views to the Etch A Sketch toy.
Paul launched a Web ad on Friday jabbing Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom for making the Etch A Sketch comment -- but it also attacks two other Republican presidential hopefuls in Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.
Conservatives and constitutionalists have long been concerned about Mitt Romneys track record of position changes and flip-flops, and his top advisers slip of the tongue only reinforces this suspicion, said Jesse Benton, a spokesman for Paul. It is equally off-putting to see Santorum and Gingrich react like carnival barkers, not the statesmen America sorely needs. But, none of this is surprising.
While the other candidates and the political chattering class are obsessed with horse-race politics and scoring public relations points, Dr. Paul stands alone in offering real solutions to difficult problems, added Benton. He is the only candidate with a Plan to Restore America that cuts real spending and balances the budget in one term, ends the foreign wars and nation-building, cuts taxes and regulations to create jobs, and reins in the Federal Reserve. And, only Dr. Paul has the track record of consistent, principled leadership Americans can trust.
