Ron Paul Group Warns John Boehner Could Let Obamacare Survive

A group affiliated with former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul is warning that the GOP leadership in the U.S. House could help undermine efforts to kill President Barack Obamas federal health-care law.

John Tate, the president of the Campaign for Liberty which is chaired by Paul, sent out a message to supporters on Thursday morning with the warning.

The GOP House leadership may get away with a bait-and-switch con job that could make it almost impossible to repeal Obamacare, Tate wrote, noting his group had warned about the possibility that the leadership could pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) which could fund the health care law.

Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor want you to think they're listening to the grassroots, so they're planning to allow the House to vote to defund Obamacare next week, and then vote separately on a CR," Tate insisted. Then, both bills will go to the Senate, where Harry Reid will make sure the bill defunding Obamacare gets defeated and the big-spending CR gets passed. And under the House leadership's proposals, once the CR passes the Senate, it can go straight to the president for his signature! So as you can see, the vote on defunding Obamacare is meaningless because House leadership has once again rigged the game so that the statists win and liberty loses.

Tate is urging supporters to contact Boehner and other House members to oppose the rules on CRs to ensure the law is not funded.
