Ron Paul Group Hits Obama on Shutdown and Health Care

A group connected to former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, took aim at President Barack Obama on Tuesday over the continuing federal shutdown.

The Campaign for Liberty, which Paul chairs, came out swinging at Obama as Norm Singleton, the vice president of policy for the group, bashed the president in an email to supporters.

The so-called government shutdown has now entered day eight, Singleton wrote. And our country hasn't yet exploded into mayhem. But Barack Obama is going to extremes to try to make the shutdown as miserable as possible for hard-working, everyday Americans. He's closed down parks, barricaded memorials, kicked people off their private land, and even closed the ocean in some places.

And the sad truth is, this entire nonsense is over one thing -- forcing Obamacare down the throats of the American people, Singleton continued. Obamacare does not give anyone health care. Instead, it raises the cost of health insurance, and then threatens you with fines for not buying it.

The Campaign for Liberty is gathering petitions against Obamas health care law.
