Ron DeSantis: Obama 'Stonewalled' on Fast and Furious Records
With a federal judge ruling the Obama administration can’t invoke executive privilege on Operation Fast and Furious records, U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., the chairman of the U.S. House National Security Subcommittee, slammed the White House’s handling of the matter.
“Operation Fast and Furious was a disaster that not only violated federal law but resulted in the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent,” DeSantis said on Tuesday. “For years, the Obama administration has stonewalled congressional oversight over this scandal. Today's ruling recognizes that President Obama's attempt to claim executive privilege regarding key documents was not based in law. The administration needs to cough up the documents and the American people deserve answers.”
DeSantis is running for the Republican nomination to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
