Romney and Cain Top GOP Field, Ron Paul Beats Perry for Third
Yet another national poll found that Herman Cain was battling former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts to lead the Republican presidential race -- and that Texas Gov. Rick Perry had fallen to fourth place. Public Policy Polling (PPP) released a poll earlier in the day showing Cain in the lead.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday found that Romney clung to a slim lead over businessman Cain in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Romney topped the poll with 23 percent but Cain was right behind him with 19 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas took third with 13 percent, ahead of Perry who garnered 10 percent.
The margin for error for registered Republicans, part of a sample of 1,113 Americans in the poll conducted Oct. 6-10, was +/- 4.8 percent.
