RNC Responds to DNC Ad in Florida

The Republican National Committee is calling a new Spanish-language television ad from the Democratic National Committee airing in Florida "scare tactics and political theatrics." The DNC ad itself was a response to a Florida Spanish-language ad from Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS group.

"This ad is a desperate attempt by Democrats to save face in light of the GOPs successful messaging within the Hispanic community.Whether it is the economy, the debt debate or the Hispanic community, the White House is consistently playing defense because of the failed policies and miscues from President Obama.More scare tactics and political theatrics from a party and president who know all too well that they have failed to deliver on their campaign promise of putting Americans back to work.Voters, especially Hispanic voters, know that they cannot afford four more years of President Obama," said RNC spokesperson Victoria Martinez.

Martinez also pointed out that the unemployment rate for Hispanics has jumped from 9.9 percent to 11.6 percent since Obama took office.

The dueling ads and the quick response from the RNC is the latest sign the two parties see Florida as a key state in their electoral map, and the state's Hispanic population as essential to winning the state.
