Rick Scott's Job Performance Numbers Grow

Gov. Rick Scott may still be on the negative side with Floridians when viewed personally, but they appear to have a much better view of his job performance as the focus has shifted to his 2014 re-election bid.

Marian Johnson, Florida Chamber of Commerce senior vice president of political strategy, said the latest numbers could actually be seen as good news for the occupant of the governors mansion.

He's not popular with the general public, but he has made tremendous strides in things that are not getting reported, Johnson said.

According to the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Scott now holds a 41 percent approval rating, which is up from 30 percent in June 2011; his disapproval rating in the same time has dropped from 54 percent to 42 percent.

At the same time, Floridians favorably view his job performance at 47 percent, up from 35 percent.

For those who have relished Scotts low approval ratings: A new poll from Public Policy Polling has placed Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, a Democrat, as the new owner of the title of most unpopular governor in the country.

Yes, more disliked than Scott Walker and Rick Perry and Jerry Brown, noted MSNBC.
