Rick Scott Team Runs New Ad Comparing Bill McCollum to John Kerry

Rick Scotts campaign just launched a new TV ad attacking Republican gubernatorial primary rival Attorney General Bill McCollum for switching his position on accepting taxpayer dollars for his campaign. The Scott team even likened McCollum to 2004 Democratic presidential nominee U.S. Sen. John Kerry -- who Republicans still mock for saying he was for a measure before he was against it, a quote included in the new ad.

Just like fellow career politician John Kerry, Bill McCollum changes his positions based on the political wind rather than principle, said Jennifer Baker, a spokeswoman for Scott. McCollum expects Floridians to forget he was on the record opposing what Jeb Bush called welfare for politicians when it suited him, as we watch him throw our tax dollars into a negative and failing campaign. Florida voters are looking for a principled, conservative outsider with experience creating jobs, not another career politician who will say anything to get elected.
