Rick Scott Team Fires Away at Bill McCollum Over RPOF Scandals

The Rick Scott gubernatorial campaign continued to fire away at Attorney General Bill McCollum, its chief rival in the Republican primary, and GOP leadership in Tallahassee. On Wednesday, Joe Kildea, a spokesman for Scott, blasted McCollum over the continued criminal investigation of former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer.

One thing is clear, said Kildea, the Jim Greer scandal will continue to harm our party until we have complete transparency, all the facts are out in the open and we have cleaned house in Tallahassee. Bill McCollum claims he did not know about the Victory Strategies contract until the March party audit, but according to today's Tampa Tribune, McCollum was informed about the contract far earlier. Additionally, Bill McCollum now claims he advised that the matter be turned over to Florida law enforcement right away, but his previous statements indicate he thought the matter was an internal party matter and then changed his position in April. If three months is swift, what is wrong with Tallahassee?
