Rick Scott Team Brands Bill McCollum Follower on Health Care

With Attorney General Bill McCollum talking health care and making a play for primary voters in Naples on Monday, the team of Rick Scott -- his chief rival for the Republican gubernatorial campaign -- is warning conservatives not to buy McCollums spin.

Its great that Bill McCollum chose to follow the lead of his fellow attorneys general and enter the debate on health care in the campaign season, but it would have been nice if he had led his fellow attorneys general during the fight, not after the fact, said Joe Kildea, a spokesman for Scott. Florida deserves a leader on the issue like Rick Scott. Rick took on Hillarycare during the Clinton administration and more recently led the successful fight to beat down Obamas public option.

"Today, Rick supports taking action against the health-care mandate, including the lawsuit Bill McCollum joined with 19 other states. But, Florida needs someone who will drive the bandwagon against Obamacare, not someone who jumps on when he thinks it will take him somewhere.
