Rick Scott Still Has the Support of the Florida Chamber on Jobs

While Gov. Rick Scott continues to struggle in the polls, he has retained the support of some important business leaders.

In Washington with Scott on Monday at the 2011 Governors Summit, Florida Chamber of Commerce President Mark Wilson praised the governors record on luring jobs to the Sunshine State.

If Washington isnt going to lead on the jobs front then leading states need to step up and move America forward, said Wilson on Monday. This is both the challenge and the rallying cry for Florida and a major reason Florida is participating on the national stage

Wilson pointed to the fact that the state had lower unemployment rates for five constructive months and pointed to the Chambers estimate that almost 77,000 jobs had been lured to Florida since Scott took office.

When Floridas job creators partner with the Florida Legislature and have the leadership of Governor Scott, we will return Florida to the No. 1 job creation state in the nation, added Wilson. The strong support of our membership and significant input from local chambers of commerce has helped Floridas Six Pillars strategy unite Floridas job creators and focus the agenda of our members.
