Gov. Rick Scott has signed the death warrant for former South Florida police officer Manuel Pardo, who was convicted of killed nine drug dealers and informers in 1986 whom Pardo claimed have no right to live.
The state argued that Pardo, an officer with Sweetwater, and a co-defendant were also dealing drugs and the execution-style murders were simply a means to eliminate the competition.
The order schedules Pardo to die by lethal injection at the Florida State Prison near Raiford at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11.
