Rick Scott Showcases Job Training Program in Budget
Gov. Rick Scott is continuing to showcase the budget he signed last month. On Monday, Scott highlighted the fact that the new budget doubles funding for the Quick Response Training program to $12 million. In Boca Raton on Monday, Scott insisted that this investment was needed to lure jobs to and expand businesses in Florida.
Quick Response Training is working, Scott said. This program helps match jobs with Florida families and provides Florida businesses with support to grow their companies and hire more families. By doubling investment in this program to $12 million, well provide more and more opportunities to families to grow more jobs, so Florida families can live the American dream.
Scotts team noted the program, which is run by Workforce Florida, has led Digital Risk to add 1,000 new jobs across the state.
We applaud Governor Scott for his support of increased funding for the Quick Response Training Program, which has helped Digital Risk hire and train nearly 700 employees at our locations throughout Florida over the past year," said Peter Kassabov, the CEO of Digital Risk. We are committed to building careers, which is why we invest more than $10,000 in training for each employee we hire, including the recent college graduates who are accepted into our FASTLANE accelerated training program. Given the investment, the partial reimbursement offered through Quick Response Training is extremely valuable to us as an employer.
