Rick Scott Reopens Palm Beach Attorney Application Process
Gov. Rick Scott has announced he is reopening the call for applications to fill the pending vacancy of state attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit.
The new application deadline is March 8.
Searching for a replacement, Scott had previously extended the deadline last month to replace Michael F. McAuliffe, who is resigning as state attorney for the circuit, which covers Palm Beach County.
McAuliffe, a Democrat, has accepted a job with private energy company Oxbow Carbon. His final day in office is March 16.The replacement would complete the final 10 months of the term.
Scott has recently interviewed former Palm Beach County State Attorney Barry Krischer, a Democrat, and Wesley White, a Republican who is in charge of the Nassau County office of the 4th Judicial Circuit.
