Rick Scott Promotes Fishing in Latest ‘Let’s Get to Work' Day

Governor Scott spent Thursday morning with members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at the Florida Bass Conservation Center at thein Webster for his 13th Lets Get to Work day.

By maintaining Floridas status as the Fishing Capital of the World, we can keep Floridas tourism industry strong and continue to move our economy in the right direction, Scott stated in a release.

Our state welcomed a record number 87.3 million visitors last year. We are on track to another record this year, in part because of the FWC employees that I worked with today.

Scott's duties today included collecting fish from outdoor ponds with biologists and performing lab work.

Floridas freshwater serves 1.5 million anglers and accounts for $2.6 billion in economic impact supporting 24,800 jobs annually, the release from the Governors Office stated.
