Rick Scott Praises Obama for Boosting Manufacturing and Cutting Corporate Taxes

Gov. Rick Scott rose to political prominence by attacking President Barack Obamas federal health care proposal. During his tenure in Tallahassee, Scott has been critical of Obama, especially on fiscal and economic issues.

But on Tuesday, Scott had a rare compliment for Obama, who is expected to announce in a speech in Tennessee a proposal to cut the corporate tax rate and boost manufacturing.

When President Obama visited Jacksonville last week, we urged him to follow our lead in Florida and cut corporate taxes to help our countrys manufacturing industry, Scott said on Tuesday. Today, we welcome his support of cutting the corporate income tax rate less than a week after his visit to our state. In Florida, we have eliminated business taxes for 70 percent of businesses and we recently eliminated sales taxes on manufacturing equipment.
