Rick Scott Pitches Freight Improvements for FDOT Video

Ever Floridas salesman, Gov. Rick Scot has cut an introduction for a video that highlights the states investments into its freight infrastructure as a means to sell the Sunshine State to nation and international businesses.

Florida has a once in a lifetime opportunity, with the expansion of the Panama Canal, to transform the states economy to become a global hub of trade, logistics and export oriented manufacturing activities, Scott states in the video that was posted by the Florida Department of Transportation Freight and Logistics Office.

The video, created for the FDOT's Leadership Forum, appears as part of the departments Freight Mobility and Trade Plan.

In order to create the conditions for the private sector to produce better jobs, Florida must have the best transportation and infrastructure system in the nation.

That is why weve expanded our investment into modernizing our ports to over $560 million in 2013.

We must focus on getting freight to and from the rest of the country. Whether it is done by truck, rail, air or sea, enhancing our movement of freight in this great state will support the investments we have and continue to make in Floridas ports.
