Rick Scott Outraises Charlie Crist in First-Month Fundraising
Charlie Crist may have just passed his first million in fundraising since he declared he'd be running for governor, but Gov. Rick Scott ran circles around the Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat in the month of November.
According to campaign finance reports, a committee supporting Crist's run for governor raised nearly $1.3 million in its first 25 days, but Crist's numbers are mere pocket change for Scott's camp. "Let's Get to Work" -- a political committee aligned with Scott's re-election campaign -- raised more than four times that amount in November, bringing in $5.8 million.
"Let's Get to Work" has $22 million in the bank.
Crist's campaign brushes off Scott's donors as big-time corporations and special interests.
Crist has received significant donations from trial attorneys since he announced his run for his old job and has been pulling for more donations for his Florida campaign from other attorneys all over the country.
Charlie Crist is running for governor because he believes in the people and wont be bullied by Rick Scott or his special interest checkbook, wrote Lauren Hitt, a Crist spokeswoman.
