Rick Scott Orders Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Oregon Shooting Victims

On Sunday afternoon, Gov. Rick Scott ordered flags across Florida to be flown at half-staff to honor the victims of a mass shooting at a community college in Oregon last week.

“In honor and remembrance of the victims of the Oregon shooting and pursuant to a presidential proclamation, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the state of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local, state, and federal buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the state of Florida,” Scott ordered on Sunday. “The flags shall be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset, Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Please note that this lowering of the flags will coincide with the lowering of the flags today in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.”
