Rick Scott Officially Files for Re-election

It's official: Gov. Rick Scott will be making a bid for his second term in 2014.

On Tuesday, Scott opened his official campaign account and turned in paperwork to seek a second term in office.

Scott's intentions to run for a second term haven't been secretive, but he hadn't officially filed to run before Tuesday. For the past two years, however, Scott has been raising millions and millions of dollars for a political organization called Let's Get to Work.

Neraly 30 other candidates have also filed paperwork to run for governor. The two most prominent candidates are Democrats -- former Gov. Charlie Crist, who jumped in the race in November, and former state Sen. Nan Rich, who has been in the race for over a year.
