Rick Scott Names Scott Stewart as Interim Sec at Management Services
Gov. Rick Scott appointed Scott Stewart as interim secretary at the Department of Management Services, replacing Jack Miles who announced he was resigning from the $140,000-a-year post in February.
Stewart currently serves as assistant secretary for administration at the Department of Children and Families.
The Department of Management Services is a critical part of our plan to continue finding ways to make government operate more efficiently, Scott stated in a release. With an excellent record of finding efficiencies at the Department of Children and Families, Scott will serve DMS customers and taxpayers well in his new role.
The bio for Stewart, who oversees DCFs budget and contract services, human resources and information technology services, includes stints at Walt Disney World and Scottys Hardware.
Miles' final day with the state is March 31.
