Rick Scott Launches Site Giving Public Info on State Spending and Salaries

On Thursday, Gov. Rick Scotts team unveiled a website giving the public access to state records including contracts and state employee salaries and pensions.

This useful tool enhances public access to government records so taxpayers can see how their tax dollars are being spent, said Scott in a statement.

Scott expanded on that theme in a message on the site.

"As the Jobs Governor, I am working to make Florida the best place to work, live, and play. We are changing how Florida does business by eliminating burdensome regulation, reducing state spending, cutting taxes and holding government accountable," noted Scott on the site. "My plan for accountability budgeting will help you exercise your right to hold government accountable. We will adopt transparent, outcome-based budgets so that you can measure results and hold government accountable.

"As taxpayers, you have the right to know how every taxpayer dollar is spent," added Scott. "This new website will give you the tools you need to learn about state contracts, state employees' salaries, and regulations. I invite you to visit it often and see how we are doing."
