Rick Scott Highlights Start of Scallop Season

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Scott showcased the start of scallop season on Saturday. The season lasts until Sep. 25. Last year, Scott asked for the season to start three days early so the last weekend of June could be included in it. 

“Bay scallop season is an exciting opportunity for Floridians and visitors to enjoy the world’s best scallops and our state’s beautiful Gulf waters during the summer months,” Scott said on Wednesday. “We’re happy to open the season early this year so more Floridians and visitors can take advantage.”
