Rick Scott Donates School Supplies for Weekend Sales Tax Holiday

Gov. Rick Scott donated school supplies he purchased at a Staples in Lauderhill to the Childrens Services Council of Broward County to highlight the states three-day 'Back-to-School' sales tax holiday that began Friday.
I encourage parents and families throughout Florida to save money this weekend by shopping for the tax-free school supplies their children need in order to succeed in the classroom, Scott stated in a release. Getting ready for a new school year can be expensive, and getting a tax break will help families stretch their hard-earned dollars.
The tax exemption applies to specific items of clothing and footwear that cost $75 or less, as well as certain school supplies that cost $15 or less.
