Rick Scott Declares State of Emergency Across Florida as Tropical Storm Erika Looms

With Tropical Storm Erika expected to hit the Sunshine State early next week, Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of the emergency on Friday morning covering all of Florida. 

Scott’s executive order places Florida Division of Emergency Management Bryan Koon in charge of the state’s response to the storm and ensures more cooperation between various government agencies. 

The storm is currently impacting Puerto Rico after doing severe damage in Dominica, including the death of four people.
