On Tuesday, Gov. Rick Scott called for $80 million to go to cancer research as part of his proposed budget. The bulk of those funds -- $60 million -- would go to Florida Cancer Centers while another $20 million would go to grants.
I am happy to announce today that our Its Your Money Tax Cut Budget, furthers our states commitment to becoming a national leader in cancer research, Scott said on Tuesday. "This investment will help cancer centers across the state gain national recognition and conduct groundbreaking research. It is essential that we continue to support cancer research in Florida so we can provide for the health needs of families.
