Rick Scott Attacks Obama over Mosque, Health Care, and Immigration Law
Speaking at Sean Hannity's Freedcom Concert in Orlando on Saturday night, Rick Scott, in a hotly contested battle with Attorney General Bill McCollum for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, tried to reinforce his conservative credentials -- by taking aim at President Barack Obama.
"Barack Obama says building a mosque at Ground Zero is about tolerance, said Scott. He is wrong. Its about truth. The truth is that Muslim fanatics murdered thousands of innocent Americans on 9/11, just yards from the site of the proposed mosque. The truth is the leader of the Ground Zero mosque refuses to admit that Muslim extremists use terror tactics. The truth is this is a slap in the face of Americas fallen Ground Zero is the wrong place for a mosque, Mr. President. The fact is our president would rather stand with the ACLU and the liberal establishment than with the 9/11 victims and their families.
Scott also played up his opposition to federal health-care plans.
"I was a leader in the fight against Hillarycare and I stood on the front line fighting Obamacare, said Scott. "I was attacked by the Obama administration in a TV ad smear campaign and by his press secretary from the White House briefing room. But you know what, it was worth it because we killed the public option -- the brass ring of Obamacare.
Scott also returned to the immigration law passed by Arizona which he hopes to bring to Florida.
"We have got to get the illegal immigration problem under control, said Scott. We have to stand up to Obama and the liberals. Thank heavens for Governor Jan Brewer who took the fight to them. I have supported the Arizona immigration law and bringing it to Florida from the very start. Not because it was the politically correct thing to do, but because it was the right thing to do. I dont need polls to tell me what is right.
