Rick Scott: Almost 300,000 Job Openings in Florida

Pointing to numbers from Help Wanted OnLine, Gov. Rick Scott noted that there were more than 299,500 job openings across Florida.

“I am proud to announce that the number of job openings in Florida is at its highest level in a decade,” Scott said on Thursday before making his pitch to cut taxes. “We are working to cut $1 billion in taxes and create the new Florida Enterprise Fund this year to help small businesses and diversify our economy in order to grow even more jobs. Florida is leading all large states in job growth and we will keep working every day to be first for jobs.”

In November, there were almost 19,300 new openings in Florida, an increase of almost 7 percent, higher than the 4.3 percent national average. Registered nurses remain the most popular openings in the Sunshine State.
