Rick Scott Agrees to 3 Fall Debates, Hits Charlie Crist for Not Debating Nan Rich
Gov. Rick Scotts team announced on Tuesday that he would engage in three debates in the fall: the Telemundo debate on Oct. 10, Leadership Floridas debate at Broward College on Oct. 15 and CNNs debate on Oct. 21.
The great thing about debates is that they allow candidates to discuss their vision and their plans directly with the voters, Scott said before taking a shot at former Gov. Charlie Crist for ducking debates with primary rival former Florida Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich. The only other time I ran for office I participated in debates in both the primary and general elections. Candidates who refuse to debate show a disdain for the voters and for their opponent. I look forward to a great exchange of ideas with either Charlie Crist or Nan Rich, whoever emerges from the primary in late August.
