Rick Santorum: 'We're in Pretty Good Shape'
Despite finishing in third place in the Florida primary on Tuesday, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum insists his campaign is in pretty good shape and shows no signs of leaving the race.
Were in pretty good shape, were starting to build slowly, Santorum told Fox News on Tuesday night. Ive said from the beginning, 'slow and steady.' People are going to be taking a look at this race now that theyve exposed some of the deep, dark underbelly of both of these candidates. Theyre going to start to take a look at the candidate whos going to make Obama the issue, not our candidate and the problems that our candidate has.
Asked about whether the GOP is starting to fracture during the primary campaign, Santorum said the race is getting too personal.
The problem, sometimes, with Republican primaries and all primaries is, we get away from the issues that are clear differences between the candidates and just make it personal and thats where you can divide, Santorum said. If you make it just about personal attacks, its hard to bring things back together.
